Those who appreciate Key West's historic homes and those who like to see what can be done to restore these architectural beauties have a common cause.

The Old Island Restoration Foundation is reaching out to expand the collection on tour during the upcoming winter season.

For more than 50 years, the foundation has helped raise funds to maintain the Oldest House Museum and help fund restoration grants as well as scholarships for Key West High seniors.

The foundation is looking to sponsor four home and garden tours this year.
